Copyediting

Correcting all of the issues addressed in proofreading, as well as providing suggestions for smoother sentences and transitions, greater clarity and readability, and other stylistic concerns.

Content Editing

Strengthening copy with attention to organization, sentence structure, and consistency. Recommending revisions such as areas to expand or cut; noting repetition and other issues; and improving language for readability, style, and tone.

Developmental editing

Providing overarching suggestions for revision and organization, typically for larger works like books, long chapters, or academic articles.

ABOUT SQUIRREL GROVE

Hi! I'm Ruthie.

I started Squirrel Grove Editorial in 2019, but I've been editing for friends and colleagues for much longer. I've worked on short story and essay collections, fiction and nonfiction books for readers of all ages, magazine articles, and company newsletters, among other projects. This variety of subjects and media is one of my favorite things about editing: I'm always learning something new!
